Passpack has released an iOS app and a Chrome browser extension, extending its password management platform to the devices and workflows businesses use throughout the working day. Both products connect to the same encrypted vault, meaning credentials saved on a desktop are available wherever an employee works next.
The launch addresses a problem that has followed the password management category for years. Businesses buy the software, deploy it, and then watch adoption stall because employees find the tool slower than the habits it was meant to replace. Passpack argues that the adoption gap, not the technology itself, is where most credential security programs fail.
“Password managers have a reputation for being finicky, and that reputation keeps a lot of people from ever adopting one,” said Chris Skipworth, CEO of Passpack. “We built the app and the extension around a simple idea. Security works better when it fits naturally into how people already work. The mobile app frees credentials from the desk, and the browser extension removes friction from daily logins while adding protection where they’re entered. When secure access is the easiest option, better habits follow.”
Mobile access and the workarounds it replaces
The iOS app gives employees access to their credentials from their phone, which matters for businesses whose staff travel, move between meetings, or split time between office and home. When a password manager stays tied to a desktop, employees improvise. They text a login to a colleague, save it in a notes app, or write it down. Each workaround moves a credential outside any system the business controls.
Passpack argues that mobile access removes the need for the workaround in the first place. Employees get credentials wherever they are working, while IT keeps centralized oversight of who has access to what.
The browser as the point of use
The Chrome extension targets the moment credentials are actually used. Rather than switching between a password manager and the site they are signing into, employees work directly in the browser, where the extension fills saved credentials and captures new ones as accounts are created.
That convenience carries a security benefit. Copying and retyping passwords often leaves copies behind in clipboards, documents, and message threads. Reducing the steps between an employee and a secure login reduces the places a credential can end up. The extension also flags login screens that appear unsafe, a feature that has become more relevant as AI tools lower the cost of producing convincing phishing pages.
Both products support secure credential sharing, giving teams a way to hand off access to a shared account without passwords landing in chat threads, emails, or spreadsheets. Shared accounts are common in smaller businesses, where a single social media login or vendor portal may be used by several people, and they are among the hardest credentials to track once they start circulating informally.
Market context
The launch comes as credential theft remains the most common route into business systems. Verizon’s 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report found stolen credentials present in 39% of breaches when counted at any point in an attack, the most frequent technique in its dataset. AI has compounded the issue by giving attackers cheaper ways to run phishing campaigns at scale and to test stolen logins across large numbers of accounts.
Guidance has shifted accordingly. NIST’s Digital Identity Guidelines now point to password managers and autofill as practical tools for improving credential habits, a notable endorsement for a category once treated as optional.
The Passpack iOS app is available now on the App Store, with an Android version to follow. The browser extension is live for Chrome, with Firefox and Edge versions planned.
