The festivities kick off on Saturday, October 5th, with an Education Day at AB Tech Ferguson Auditorium from 11 AM to 6 PM, featuring a lineup of distinguished speakers in the vegan movement, including New York Times bestselling author Robert Cheeke, ultramarathoner Sid Garza-Hillman, and women’s heart specialist Dr. Yolanda Wade. These presenters will share insights into the health benefits of a plant-based diet, empowering attendees to make informed choices for themselves and their families. The day will also include interactive workshops and discussions on nutrition, wellness, and sustainable living, inspiring both seasoned vegans and newcomers to the plant-based lifestyle.

Festival Day: A Celebration of Food and Community

On Sunday, October 6th, the festival shifts to Pack Square Park, where attendees can enjoy a day filled with delicious vegan cuisine, community engagement, and entertainment from 11 AM to 6 PM. With over 80 vendors showcasing an incredible variety of vegan foods, ethical products, and animal-friendly wellness options, there is something for everyone to savor. Festival-goers can sample culinary delights from festival favorites like A Peace of Soul, Dare Vegan Cheese, and Soul’s Kitchen. 

To enhance the experience, the festival will feature a live DJ throughout the day, creating a festive atmosphere for all attendees. Families will find plenty of activities to enjoy in the Family Fun Zone, which includes free face painting, life-size games like Jenga and Connect 4, and a 360 photo booth, ensuring fun for all ages.

Community Engagement and Sustainability

Asheville Veganfest is not only about celebrating plant-based living but also about fostering community connections. The festival encourages attendees to bring their own bags and bottles to help reduce plastic waste. Composting stations and recycling bins will be available, promoting eco-friendly practices throughout the event.
